Animals
No animals are permitted except for working-assistance dogs.
We have a range of different animals for our guests to enjoy at their own risk. Please latch all gates behind you to keep the
animals safe. Please do not enter the deer enclosure. Children must be supervised at all times including around the fish ponds. Mistreatment of the animals will not be tolerated.
St Leonards Vineyard Cottages has two resident dogs and a cat. Please let us know if you would prefer them to be kept away during your stay.
Booking policy
All bookings will be instantly confirmed at the time of booking. A 10% deposit is required to be paid at the time of booking, with full payment to be made at check-in.
We reserve the right to limit the number of people in any of our cottages due to fire restrictions.
All guests must refrain from cooking anything inside our cottages that can leave a lingering smell (curries, fish etc.).
Should this occur, an airing out fee will apply. Any damage to the property or cottages will be charged to the guest’s credit card, plus a charge for any loss of income for the time the unit is unrentable, if applicable. This includes, but is not limited
to, any hazardous soiling of the premises, e.g. blood or body fluids.
St Leonards Vineyard Cottages reserves the right to cancel a guest’s reservation if they are unable to comply with this
policy.

If you have booked through an Online Travel Agency (ie: Booking.com, Expedia, Wotif, Agoda etc) any amendments or cancellations to your booking must be made through their booking site as per the terms and conditions you accepted when you made the booking through their site.
Failure to turn up on your day of arrival will incur a cancellation fee of the total value of the reservation. In the event of non-payment, St Leonards Vineyard Cottages reserves the right to charge the credit card that was supplied at the time of booking.
Should you reschedule to another date, there may be a rate difference depending on room availability and season.
Cancellations due to Government-imposed travel bans
If your travel plans are impacted within 7 days of check-in due to Government-imposed travel bans, border closures, or airline cancellations caused directly by the 2026 global fuel crisis, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a later date within the next 24 months (pending availability) at the same rate as your existing booking. Otherwise our standard cancellation terms apply.
Depending on cottage availability for your rescheduled dates, a difference in room rate may apply if you select a different cottage, however this will be based on the current (not future) rate for that cottage.

Check-in is from 3pm. Please advise your approximate arrival time when making your reservation. Check-out is before 10am on day of departure.

Smoking and vaping
Smoking and vaping is strictly not permitted inside any of the cottages or shared outdoor facilities (Pool area, Tennis court, Animals etc.). Should guests smoke/vape inside a cottage, a $200 cleaning fee will be charged. If damage caused by smoking/vaping results in the cancellation of the next booking in that cottage, the guests will also be liable for the full amount of the cancelled booking.
Due to fire risk, extreme care is to be taken if smoking or vaping outdoors, particularly during the dry summer season. Guests are responsible for any costs, damage, or liability arising as a result of smoking or vaping. This includes, but is not limited to, call-out fees from the NZ Fire Service, and damage to property and stock.
